Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. You get 3 months of full Pro access — no card, no commitment. After that, you can keep using the free plan (one class level) forever, or upgrade to Pro or Whole School.

Is it built for the redeveloped curriculum?

From the ground up. All 641 Learning Outcomes across STEM, SEE, Arts, Wellbeing, Mathematics, English, Gaeilge, and MFL are built in. The 1999 curriculum is there too — plan from both during the phased transition. Use whichever specs your school has adopted.

Do I need my principal to sign up first?

No. Any teacher can sign up free and start planning immediately. If your school decides to go whole-school later, your plans come with you.

Where is our data stored?

All data is stored on servers within the EU (Germany), built with GDPR in mind. We never share or sell school data. No cookies, no tracking beyond basic analytics. Read our full Privacy Policy at pleanail.ie/privacy.

How is this different from templates or spreadsheets?

Pleanáil knows the curriculum. When you pick a subject, it shows you the strands, strand units, and learning outcomes. Your Cúntas Míosúil generates from your plans. Everything connects — no copy-pasting between documents.

Do teachers need to install anything?

No. Pleanáil works entirely in the browser on any device — desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. No apps, no downloads.
