Fortnightly plan template for Irish primary teachers (free download)

The sections a fortnightly plan needs

Whatever format your school uses, a strong short-term plan answers the same questions for each subject:

• Learning Outcomes / objectives: what the children will learn, referenced to the correct curriculum for that subject
• Focus of learning: the What. The main teaching focus for the fortnight, in a sentence or two.
• Learning experiences: the How. The activities that bring the learning about.
• Assessment: how you will know the learning happened.
• Differentiation: how the same learning is reached by every child in the room.

Two weeks is the natural unit for most classrooms, though monthly planning is now officially recognised and works the same way with a longer window. And when the month ends, your plans generate your Cúntas Míosúil on their own.
